Verdict in Adnan Oktar’s ‘current structuring’ case

The current restructuring case involving the alleged leader of the armed criminal organization Adnan Oktar has revealed that he is continuing his organizational activities from prison. It has been reported that Oktar is using his lawyers to maintain the organization and recruit new members to replace those that have been exposed.
During a recent hearing at the Istanbul 1st High Criminal Court, Adnan Oktar and several other defendants appeared via the Audio and Visual Information System (SEGBİS). One defendant who is not in custody, as well as the defendant’s lawyers, were also present in court.
A witness, Fatih Kılıç, testified that Adnan Oktar had a strong hold on his followers, injecting himself into every aspect of their lives. Kılıç mentioned that Oktar had serious fears and precautions in place, including going out with an armed bodyguard to appear as an ordinary person. He described Oktar as a megalomaniac with an inferiority complex who constantly sought praise.
Kılıç further stated that Oktar took control of the people inside the organization to prevent them from having regrets. When Oktar was imprisoned, he immediately assigned lawyers to gather written statements clearing him and the organization. Despite some reluctance from individuals, Oktar managed to obtain these statements and even had inmates write him letters.
Following the hearing, the court decided to release detained defendants Meltem Daban, Ferhunde Eda Babuna, Elvan Şahin, Aslı Efeoğlu, and Mine Kalça under the condition of a judicial control measure, banning them from travelling abroad. The hearing was postponed as the case continues to unfold.
