Verdict Revealed in Railway Station Massacre Case

The verdicts for the defendants in the October 10 Train Station massacre case have been revealed. The court panel has convicted Yakub Şahin, Hakan Şahin, Hacı Ali Durmaz, Halil İbrahim Alçay, Resul Demir, Hüseyin Tunç, Talha Güneş, Abdülmuttalip Demir, and Metin Akaltın as deliberate members of an armed terrorist organization, leading to the murder of Mustafa Budak. They were sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment for the murder.

Furthermore, defendant Erman Ekici was sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment for attempting to overthrow the constitutional order and 101 counts of intentional killing within the scope of terrorist activities. He also received 18 years in prison for 379 counts of attempted murder within the activities of an armed terrorist organization. Additionally, Ekici was handed 10 years for possessing unlicensed explosives and 3 years for possessing unlicensed weapons. The panel’s decision was unanimous, with no reductions in the sentences.

However, Erman Ekici was acquitted of the charge of committing a crime against humanity due to lack of evidence. The defendants will now face their respective sentences as per the court’s ruling.
