Viktor Orbán Slams Brussels as “Soros Headquarters”
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has revealed bold plans for January in a recent radio interview, focusing on economic reforms, peace efforts in Ukraine, and Hungary’s achievements during its EU presidency. He discussed new measures under economic policy, the need for a Christmas ceasefire, and the challenges Hungary faces economically.
Orbán highlighted ambitious economic reforms set to take place in January, referring to it as a “flying leap” towards success. He emphasized the start of new measures driven by peace, particularly in terms of economic policy led by Hungary’s new Minister for Economic Affairs, Márton Nagy. Orbán praised Nagy’s action plan and the wage agreement signed by him, signaling a fresh economic start for Hungary.
In light of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, Orbán reiterated the importance of peace negotiations and called for a Christmas ceasefire, stressing the need for European mediation. He detailed his efforts to arrange a ceasefire and a prisoner exchange during Orthodox Christmas, highlighting conversations with Russian President Vladimir Putin and the challenges posed by Ukrainian reluctance to engage in peace talks. Orbán emphasized the necessity of resolving the conflict for Europe’s economic well-being.
Reflecting on Hungary’s EU presidency, Orbán celebrated achievements such as Schengen enlargement and improved competitiveness while cautioning against potential challenges posed by Ukraine’s EU membership, particularly for European farmers and Hungarian agriculture. He labeled the European Parliament and Commission as “Soros Headquarters” and called for change in Europe, emphasizing the need to protect Hungarian agriculture.
