Viktor Orbán Urges EU Leadership Reform and Migration Policy Update
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, alongside former Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Fabrice Leggeri, the former head of Frontex and leader of the French right-wing National Rally (RN) party, recently participated in a public debate at the European Parliament. The discussion focused on pressing issues surrounding the EU’s migration and asylum package.
During the debate, Viktor Orbán emphasized the crucial question of whether migrants seeking asylum in Europe should await their assessment within the EU’s borders or outside until a decision is made. He firmly stated that “this is the red line. If this point is not met, everything else will remain unresolved.” The Prime Minister underscored the importance of addressing this fundamental aspect for an effective migration policy within the EU.

He criticized the EU’s exclusion of Hungary from the recovery fund, alleging political motivations behind the decision, specifically targeting Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission.
