Violent Carpet Beating Fight in Ankara Leaves One Dead and One Injured
A tragic incident occurred this morning on Kızılcık Street in Şehitlik District, sparking a deadly altercation between neighbors. Hazal Gencer, a resident on the 1st floor of a 2-storey building, confronted Meryem Kamış, who resides on the upper floor, for beating a carpet from the balcony late last night.
The disagreement escalated, leading to the intervention of neighbors. However, the situation took a turn for the worse when Meryem Kamış’s husband, Hasan Kamış, returned home in the morning armed with a knife. Hasan Kamış confronted the neighbors, Hazal and Vedat Gencer, resulting in a violent altercation.
Tragically, Hazal Gencer, a mother of two, lost her life in the confrontation, while Vedat Gencer sustained serious injuries. Vedat Gencer’s life is currently in jeopardy, and he has been rushed to Polatlı State Hospital for medical treatment.
The suspect, Hasan Kamış, has been apprehended and is currently in police custody. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident to determine the circumstances that led to this tragic outcome.
