Vocational High School Students Compete in Information and Skill Competition at BRTK
“Competitions Between Vocational High Schools Showcasing Knowledge and Skills”
The Ministry of National Education Vocational Technical Education Department has kicked off the “Information and Skill Competitions between Vocational High Schools,” aiming to showcase the talents and abilities of students in various fields.
The first stage of the competition was organized by the International University of Cyprus (CIYU) and featured competitions in the areas of hair care, beauty, and agricultural technologies. This year, the competition in the field of agricultural technologies was introduced for the first time, allowing students to demonstrate their expertise in this area. Meanwhile, students participating in the beauty and hair care categories showcased their skills in hair styling and makeup application.
Judged by representatives from universities and the workforce, the competitions will continue until April 29, giving Vocational High School students the opportunity to exhibit their knowledge and skills in different disciplines.
During the event, key figures such as National Education Minister Nazım Çavuşoğlu, Director of the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources Reşat Değirmenci, Director of the Ministry of National Education Vocational Technical Education Department Gülşen Hoca, and Rector of CIU Dr. Halil Nadiri delivered inspiring speeches emphasizing the importance of vocational education.
Minister Çavuşoğlu highlighted the government’s commitment to developing vocational high schools to produce graduates who are well-prepared for the workforce. He stressed the need to train individuals in professions that are in demand in society, ultimately reducing the reliance on foreign labor and boosting the country’s economy.
The competition also saw the active participation of students from various Vocational High Schools, showcasing their talents in areas such as hair design, makeup, and agricultural technologies. Awards were presented to the top performers in each category, encouraging them to continue excelling in their chosen fields.
The competition not only provides a platform for students to demonstrate their skills but also serves as a valuable opportunity for them to network with industry professionals and university representatives.
