Vodafone Hungary to Change Name in 2025!

Shareholders of Vodafone Hungary have approved the spin-off of its infrastructure activities, as announced by owner 4iG on Tuesday. Starting from January 1, 2025, the mobile telecommunications infrastructure will be operated under the company V-Hálózat, while commercial operations will continue in ONE Hungary.
4iG had initially disclosed its plan to separate its commercial activities and infrastructure into distinct entities in November 2023. The decision to divide the operations received the green light from shareholders, paving the way for the restructuring process to take place.
In other economic news from today, the Government Debt Management Agency (AKK) successfully sold HUF 20.0bn of three-month T-bills at auction, meeting the original offer. Primary dealers submitted bids totaling HUF 42.1bn for the securities, with an average yield of 5.51pc, slightly above the secondary market benchmark yield but lower than the previous auction.
Furthermore, the board of AKKO Invest, a listed asset management company, advised against accepting a buyout offer from Mevinvest, Wingholding, Dayton-Invest, and Tibor Veres. The board highlighted the potential for further development in AKKO’s portfolio, which could offer shareholders greater financial benefits than the current bid price.
Shareholders considering the buyout offer at HUF 266/share were cautioned by the board about the possibility of missing out on potential gains. AKKO Invest had received the mandatory buyout offer a week prior, prompting the board to urge shareholders to consider the long-term benefits of retaining their shares.
The developments in Vodafone Hungary’s restructuring and the economic updates reflect the dynamic landscape of Hungary’s business environment, with companies and investors making strategic decisions to optimize operations and maximize returns for shareholders.
