
Warmer Weather Expected: 8-12 Degrees Above Seasonal Averages

The Ministry of Environment, Urbanism, and Climate Change, through the General Directorate of Meteorology, has provided a weekly weather forecast. According to the weather specialist Cengiz Celik, the upcoming week will see a continuation of rainfall and hot weather.
Celik mentioned that temperatures are expected to rise by 3-4 degrees compared to the usual temperatures. This increase will lead to temperatures being 8 to 12 degrees above seasonal norms throughout the country. A hot air wave is predicted to affect the country for the duration of the week.
Specifically, thunderstorms are expected in the East of the Southeastern Anatolia region around Diyarbakir, Batman, and Sirnak. Additionally, Edirne and Çanakkale may experience thunderstorms on Wednesday and Thursday.
Temperatures are expected to reach up to 30 degrees in the Mediterranean region, 25-26 degrees in Central Anatolia, and up to 25 degrees in the Marmara region. This represents a significant deviation from the seasonal norms.
Celik also warned of an avalanche risk in areas with high snow thickness in the East, which may escalate with the rising temperatures.
In terms of the three metropolitan cities, Ankara, Istanbul, and Izmir, Steel stated that no rainfall is expected. In Ankara, temperatures are expected to reach 23-24 degrees, while Istanbul will see a temperature increase of 4-5 degrees starting Tuesday, with the highest temperature reaching 21-22 degrees. In Izmir, temperatures will gradually rise to 25-26 degrees.
Overall, the upcoming week will bring warmer temperatures and potential thunderstorms in various regions of Turkey. Citizens are advised to stay informed and take necessary precautions.
