Warnings Issued by Media Ethics Committee to European Newspaper and Websites

The Media Ethics Committee has recently issued warnings to the European Newspaper and several websites for publishing inaccurate news without proper sources. The committee specifically addressed the European Newspaper for their article titled “Gündüz: The End of the Work is based on UBP deputies” on the website of Yenidüzen Newspaper.
The Committee emphasized the importance of following professional journalism principles, stating that news should always attribute sources and verify information before publishing. In a similar instance, the committee also issued a general warning to websites that published news claiming that “Business people Asil Nadir lost their lives” without confirming the truth of the information.
The Committee emphasized the need for journalists to make efforts to confirm information obtained and to adhere to professional ethical principles. They highlighted the importance of verifying information from at least 2 to 3 different sources before publishing. The Committee urged colleagues to be more sensitive to ethical standards and avoid spreading unverified news in the digital environment. It is crucial for news outlets to prioritize accuracy and credibility in their reporting.
