Wedding celebration turns tragic: Groom and cousin killed in violent altercation
A violent argument between a newlywed couple in Yenişehir district ended in tragedy as Mehmet Ali Baran and his cousin Vedat Baran were shot by the bride’s relatives. The incident occurred on Aziz Mahmutoğulları Street, where the couple resided on the 6th floor of a building.
Upon receiving a distress call, police and medical teams rushed to the scene. Tragically, both the groom and his cousin were pronounced dead, while another individual named Agit Baran sustained injuries. The bride, identified as EB, along with her two children, were taken away from the scene by her relatives.
As the bodies were being transported to the Forensic Medicine Institute, the groom’s relatives were understandably distraught and suffered a nervous breakdown. Police teams are currently conducting an investigation into the incident.
EB, who fled after the shooting, was later apprehended along with her mother R.Ş. and brother A.Ş. (23). The details surrounding the tragic event are still under scrutiny as authorities work to piece together what led to the violent altercation.
