Weekend Weather Forecast: Dropping Temperatures Ahead
The weather across Turkey is set to cool down in the coming week after high temperatures due to the southwestern wind. Rain is expected in Istanbul on Sunday, bringing relief from the heat.
According to the latest forecasts by the General Directorate of Meteorology, different regions of the country will experience varying weather conditions. The northern and eastern parts are expected to be partly to very cloudy, while certain areas like the Central and Eastern Black Sea coasts, Artvin, Kars, and Ardahan may see local torrential downpours and thunderstorms. Other regions will experience slightly cloudy and clear skies.
Temperatures are expected to be around 2 to 4 degrees above seasonal norms in the north, central, and eastern parts, while staying around seasonal norms in other areas. The wind is forecasted to blow from the south, with light to moderate force in most regions.
In terms of specific regions, Edirne, Balıkesir, and other western areas may experience local showers and thunderstorms. Istanbul is expected to see temperatures around 31°C with partly cloudy skies. In the western parts like Izmir and Manisa, partly cloudy conditions are forecasted.
As for the Inner and Eastern parts, regions like Adana and Antalya are expected to have partly cloudy skies, while the Eastern Mediterranean region may see local showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures are set to be around 35°C in Adana and 31°C in Antalya.
