Weekly Vegetable Inspection Report: Excessive Protection Agent Found in Strawberries and Eggplants

The Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources recently conducted tests on imported and domestic vegetable and fruit samples between February 7-13. Two domestic products, strawberry and eggplant, were found to have exceeded the limit of plant protection agents.

Out of the 14 samples taken from imported products, all were clean and did not contain any harmful substances. However, out of the 34 samples taken from domestic products, 2 were found to have plant protection agents above the acceptable limit.

Yedidalgalı Aysel Şen’s strawberries were found to have exceeded the limit, leading to the halt of their production until further laboratory analysis. Additionally, the eggplants from Bostancı’da Yorran Agriculture were also found to contain harmful substances and were destroyed.

These findings highlight the importance of regular testing and monitoring of agricultural products to ensure the safety and well-being of consumers. It is crucial for farmers and suppliers to adhere to regulations and guidelines to prevent such incidents in the future.
