Wild Animals Discovered in Istanbul Home: Crocodile, Snake, and Anaconda Found

The Anti-Smuggling Crimes Branch Directorate in Istanbul took action based on information about wild animals protected under the Convention on Trade in Endangered Species. The teams conducted a raid at an address in Beykoz, where they discovered a shocking collection of live animals and taxidermy.

A total of 5 live animals and 4 taxidermy specimens were seized during the operation. Among the live animals found were a golden eagle, a Nile crocodile, two lovebirds, and an anaconda. Additionally, taxidermy items such as a stuffed boa constrictor, a crowned crane, a mountain goat, and another Nile crocodile were also confiscated.

Furthermore, the authorities uncovered a bearskin and the remains of a hunted African buffalo during the search. Efforts are currently underway to apprehend a suspect identified in connection with the illegal possession of these protected animals.
