The Almásy Castle in Gyula will be hosting its Advent programme, the Magical Christmas Castle, this year. Visitors can relish the festive atmosphere amid magical surroundings, with everything a Christmas fair could offer and more! The castle will feature a Christmas tree, a snow-covered town model, and a giant nutcracker on display in the winter garden. Additionally, guests can partake in various workshops and events in the castle park, including theatre performances and concerts.
Discover the secrets of the Nádasdy Castle!
The Nádasdy Castle offers visitors the opportunity to delve into the clandestine history of the Nádasdy family through a tour titled “The Castle of Legends.” The tour guides visitors through the entire castle, showcasing the family’s history and everyday life during its heyday. Visitors can explore the Ancestors’ Hall and the impressive library, both additions by master architect Alajos Hauszmann, as well as the charming English garden with its pond and waterfall.
Peek into the life of one of the greatest Hungarian painters at the Benczúr Manor!
After three years of extensive renovations, the Benczúr Manor is reopening its doors on the 1st of December. The manor has been restored to its original state and now features a new permanent exhibition showcasing the life and work of the famous Hungarian painter Gyula Benczúr. Visitors can explore the manor and view 18 original Benczúr paintings, relics, drapes, reproductions, photos and short films, offering a culturally refreshing insight into the life of one of Hungary’s greatest painters.
