
Wizz Air Makes Major Change to Budapest Route with Airport Swap

Wizz Air Changes Airport for Budapest-Bucharest Route
Wizz Air, the popular low-cost airline, has announced a significant change to its Budapest-Bucharest route starting on 30 March 2025. Instead of landing at Henri Coandă International Airport (Otopeni, OTP), flights will now operate through Aurel Vlaicu International Airport (Baneasa, BBU).
According to reports from AIRportal.hu, the daily flight W6 3292 will depart Budapest at 19:50 and arrive in Băneasa at 22:15 local time. The return flight, W6 3291, will leave Bucharest at 23:00 and land in Budapest at 23:30. The route will be serviced by Wizz Air’s Airbus A321neo aircraft, with a flight duration of approximately 1.5 hours.
In addition to this change, Wizz Air is also launching a new route from Cluj-Napoca to Castellón de la Plana, Spain, starting on 11 April as reported by Maszol. Initially, flights will operate on Mondays and Fridays, and then switch to Tuesdays and Saturdays from 16 June. Tickets for this new route are available starting from RON 99 (EUR 19.99) on the airline’s website and app.
