Women in Business Summit: Cyprus Lapta Accounting Business Fashion Show
The Kıbrıs Lapta Account İşi fashion show, “Water from the Past to the Future”, was a huge success at the “3rd Women in Business Summit” Directing the Future. The show, which showcased the 100-year-old legacy of Lapta Accounting Works, received great appreciation from the audience.
Sıdıka Ruso and her daughter Ayper Çalıkan have been working tirelessly to keep the Lapta Business alive for nearly 70 years and to pass it on to the future. Their efforts were showcased through modernized designs by Fashion Designer Fahriye Behçet, under the organization of Curator Özlem Özbekoğlu.
Özbekoğlu expressed the importance of preserving Lapta Calculation Work, which is one of the most important values of Cyprus Handicrafts. The fashion show aimed to honor Sıdıka Ruso and bring this classic handicraft into the current stage for real-life applications.
Additionally, Özbekoğlu highlighted the potential for Lapta’s registered handicraft, Accounting Work, to contribute to tourism in Lapta. Young GİKAD members who participated in the fashion show expressed their honor and happiness to be part of such a project.
Fashion Designer Fahriye Behçet emphasized her happiness to contribute to such a meaningful organization and stressed the importance of carrying this important Cypriot handicraft from the past to the future.
The combination of tradition and modernity showcased in the fashion show “Water from the Past to the Future” was a true celebration of the rich heritage of Lapta Accounting Works and its potential impact on the future.
