Women in the Workplace: A Productive Meeting at BRTK
The Ministry of Labor and Social Security recently organized a working meeting to address the challenges faced by women in the business world. The meeting, led by the Social Services Department, aimed to discuss and find solutions to the various issues affecting women’s participation in business life.
During the meeting, which took place at the Merit Diamond Hotel, Labor and Social Security Minister Sadik Gardiyanoglu, along with representatives from the Ministry of Labor Department, Social Insurance Department, Social Services Department, and the Department of Specialization Fund Department, engaged in productive discussions with female employees.
Alev Ecevit, the Director of the Social Services Department, highlighted some of the key challenges faced by women, such as difficulties in finding employment, low wages, and limited opportunities for career advancement. Ecevit emphasized the importance of addressing these issues and developing policies to empower women in the workforce.
Minister Gardiyanoglu expressed his satisfaction with the increasing number of women in leadership roles within the ministry and acknowledged the significant contributions of women in various aspects of society. He also addressed the growing number of women entrepreneurs and initiatives to support women who have been outside the social security system for years.
One of the key announcements made during the meeting was the decision to cover 100% of social insurance premiums for female employees starting in 2025. This initiative aims to provide financial security for women and encourage their participation in the workforce.
Throughout the meeting, participants discussed various strategies to promote women’s participation in business life, including creating opportunities, providing support, and fostering collaboration between public and private sectors. The final report from the meeting will outline a roadmap for strengthening the position of women in society and developing new projects to increase women’s employment.
