Tourism Professionals Dispute Claims of Expensive Prices in Bodrum
Recently, there has been a growing perception on social media that Bodrum is too expensive, with claims that sunbeds are empty and that nobody visits the district. However, tourism professionals in the area have spoken out against these perceptions, stating that there is a holiday option for every budget in Bodrum.
One of the main points of contention has been the price of goods and services in the region. To combat this perception, price comparisons were made starting from Lahmacun down to a scoop of ice cream, and the results were shared on social media. Tourism professionals were quick to react, noting that the prices in Bodrum vary depending on the region.
For instance, while the prices in the Bodrum center cater to middle and high-income groups, neighborhoods like Gümbet offer a more budget-friendly holiday option. Other regions like Bitez, Ortakent, Akyarlar, and Turgutreis are popular among middle and high-income tourists. On the other hand, Gümüşlük, Kadıkalesi, and Gündoğan provide holiday opportunities for low, medium, and high-income citizens. Yalıkavak and Türkbükü are known for catering to the jet set, celebrities, and citizens with very high income levels.

General Manager Okan Çağla emphasized that there is a holiday option for every budget in Bodrum and called out the negative and high price perception on social media as not reflecting the truth.
Similarly, Hasan Yiğit, the Operator of Herodot Beach Hotel, confirmed that his hotel and beach were completely full, with no empty sunbeds left. He noted that while there are expensive areas in Bodrum, Ortakent Beach remains accessible for all budgets, with a larger number of local tourists visiting the area.
