
World Agricultural Engineers Day and Agricultural Education Celebration – BRTK Event

World Agricultural Engineers Day is celebrated with an event at Güzelyurt Vocational High School
Güzelyurt Vocational High School hosted an event to celebrate World Agricultural Engineers Day and Agricultural Education anniversary. The event was organized in collaboration with the Ministry of National Education’s Vocational Technical Education Department, the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, and the Chamber of Agricultural Engineers.
The event began with a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem. Rüstem Kal, Director of Güzelyurt Vocational High School, delivered the opening speech in which he emphasized the importance of agriculture as the main locomotive of the country. He also highlighted the diverse opportunities offered by the agricultural sector, including food production, economy, employment, and sustainability.
Erkut Uluçam, President of the Chamber of Agricultural Engineers, expressed his satisfaction with the growing number of students in the agricultural department at Güzelyurt Vocational High School. Uluçam also emphasized the potential for further growth by utilizing water resources from Turkey to meet the country’s agricultural needs.
Güzelyurt Mayor Mahmut Özçınar underscored the increasing global significance of agriculture. He emphasized the need for innovative approaches to agricultural production and urged compliance with state laws and the reinvestment of agricultural income into the sector.
Hüseyin Çavuş, Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources, highlighted the growing importance of the agricultural sector in a rapidly changing world. He stressed the need for good agricultural policies and sustainability achieved through education.
Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu emphasized the need to adopt modern agricultural practices in response to population growth, diminishing land, and food requirements. He also mentioned the implementation of agricultural production practices in compliance with European Union criteria in the country.
Ersin Tatar, the President, spoke about the advancements in the agricultural sector, and how the region’s agricultural production, especially citrus fruits, significantly contributes to the overall output of the country.
Overall, the event celebrated the achievements of the agricultural sector and emphasized the need for continued support and innovation to ensure sustainable growth. It ended with the opening of agricultural production stands for attendees to visit.
