World-Class Organists Headlining Budapest Organ Festival
The Budapest International Organ Festival is set to return for its second edition, taking place between May 5 and June 30 at the Inner City Parish Church in Budapest. This year, the festival will feature performances by Polish and Italian organists alongside Hungarian artists.
The festival’s artistic director, Zsolt Máté Mészáros, has curated a program that includes international representatives of organ music and is organized in collaboration with the Polish Institute and the Italian Cultural Institute.
A special highlight of this year’s festival is the celebration of a double anniversary between Hungary and Poland. To commemorate this occasion, Polish artists Pawel Wróbel and Roman Perucki, Hungarian organists János Pálúr and Zsolt Máté Mészáros, and Italian guest Silvio Celeghin will showcase their talents through various concerts.
Each artist has been tasked with creating a program that offers insight into their musical culture while also highlighting common values shared by Hungary, Poland, and Italy. The performances will feature works by renowned composers such as Bach, Liszt, Verdi, and more.
The festival will kick off on May 12 with a concert by Silvio Celeghin, followed by performances by Pawel Wróbel, Roman Perucki, János Pálúr, and Zsolt Máté Mészáros on subsequent dates. The series will conclude with a special performance by Mészáros on June 30.
Music enthusiasts and fans of organ music are encouraged to attend the Budapest International Organ Festival to experience the diverse talents and cultural connections showcased by these exceptional musicians. Join us for a harmonious celebration of music and heritage at this year’s festival.
