Yasemin’s Mysterious Disappearance Solved 19 Years Later
The Fethiye Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office is working to shed light on unknown incidents as the Muğla Provincial Police Department Public Security Branch and Fethiye District Police Department teams re-examine the case of Yasemin Dermenci, who went missing in 2006. In a surprising turn of events, it was revealed that Dermenci was actually killed in 2006 and buried with a rifle. Tursun Karabulut (40) and Ömer Dalbudak (44) were apprehended last Wednesday after the teams received information and launched technical and physical investigations.
One of the suspects, Tursun Karabulut, confessed to the murder, claiming that he killed Yasemin because of a relationship she had with his wife at the time. During a search in the forest area indicated by Karabulut, human bones believed to belong to Yasemin Dermenci were discovered. DNA analysis has been initiated on the bones to confirm the identity.
Both Tursun Karabulut and Ömer Dalbudak were arrested following the police operations. This development has shed new light on the case and brought closure to the family and friends of Yasemin Dermenci.
