YSK Announces Number of Deputies for Provinces Last Minute

The Turkish Supreme Election Board (YSK) has announced in the Official Gazette that the number of deputies to be issued by each election circle will be determined within 6 months after the results of the general census are announced, in accordance with Article 4 and 5 of Law No. 2839.

The Turkish Statistical Institute revealed on December 31, 2024, the population information for the distribution of 600 deputies according to provincial and election regions. Ankara will have 37 deputies, Istanbul will have 96 deputies, and Izmir will have 28 deputies.

In comparison to the previous period, Ankara, Muğla, and Şanlıurfa will have 1 more deputy, while Erzurum, Yozgat, and Bayburt will have 1 less deputy.
