Zelenskiy Declares Control over 74 Settlements in Focused Region of Kursk
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has confirmed that their forces are continuing to advance into the Kursk region of Russia. With reports coming in from the Chief of the Ukrainian General Staff, Oleksandr Syrskyi, Zelenskyy stated that despite the intense fighting, progress is being made.
As of August 6, the Ukrainian army has successfully launched an offensive and taken control of approximately 1,000 square kilometers in the Kursk region. Zelenskyy expressed his gratitude to the soldiers for their bravery and dedication, while also mentioning ongoing preparations for future operations.
However, tensions have arisen with Russia over the alleged deployment of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine via Moldova. The Russian Foreign Ministry has expressed concerns about this move, citing reports in both Russian and Moldovan press. Moldova’s neutrality status has also been brought into question, with the ministry summoning the Moldovan Charge d’Affaires to address the situation.
In response, the Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs has denied the claims of F-16 deployment, labeling them as “fake news”. Moldova maintains its neutrality and emphasizes that it has not received any military equipment from Ukraine. The statement also criticizes Russia for its illegal deployment of troops and ammunition in Moldovan territory without permission.
The situation in Eastern Europe remains tense as Ukraine continues its advance into Russian territory, while diplomatic tensions between Russia, Ukraine, and Moldova are on the rise.
