Zelenskyy Reveals War-Torn Region as New Target Area
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently visited the city of Zaporizhia with Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof during his talks in Ukraine. The two leaders met with students to mark the beginning of the new academic year in Ukraine and later held a joint press conference.
During the press conference, Zelenskyy informed the public that Russia had carried out air strikes on Sumy, Kharkiv, and Kiev regions during the night and early morning, despite the start of the new school year. He emphasized the need for continued support in strengthening Ukraine’s air defense systems and providing essential military equipment, such as F-16 fighter jets, to prevent Russian attacks.
Zelenskyy also mentioned the ongoing efforts to lift the ban on the use of long-range weapons produced by Western countries against military targets in Russia and the procurement of such weapons. He highlighted the significance of the Kursk operation, which is proceeding as planned and has captured over 600 Russian soldiers, impacting the ongoing prisoner exchange process between Russia and Ukraine.
Regarding the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant, which was taken over by the Russian army at the beginning of the Russia-Ukraine War, Zelenskyy stated that they are working to regain control through political means due to security concerns. Efforts have been made to involve the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Mariano Grossi, in this process.
Despite facing challenges in various regions, Zelenskyy remains committed to protecting Ukraine’s sovereignty and ensuring the safety of its citizens. The international community continues to monitor the situation closely as tensions persist in the region.
