“Zero Waste Garbage Collection Marathon Awards Ceremony” Hosted by BRTK

The event, organized under the auspices of the Deputy Prime Minister and in cooperation with various government agencies and organizations, recognized the efforts of associations and individuals who collected the most garbage in different categories.

During the award ceremony, President of Kyrenia Youth Association Asya Eminoğlu emphasized the importance of raising awareness about environmental issues in the country. Youth Federation Interim President Mustafa Özbilgehan also highlighted the significance of addressing environmental problems as a priority for the nation.

Representing the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment, DP Secretary General and Kyrenia Deputy Serhat Akpınar commended the participants for their contributions to the marathon and underscored the importance of instilling environmental education in schools. He called for collective efforts to protect the country’s natural resources for future generations.

The award ceremony recognized the achievements of participants, with Ploggin TRNC Group receiving a cash prize of 7 thousand Turkish Liras in the total weight category. Winners in the “Heaviest Glass” and “Heaviest Plastic and Paper” categories from each region were also awarded 1,500 Turkish Liras each.

The event concluded with a call to continue raising awareness about environmental issues and taking tangible steps towards creating a cleaner and more sustainable environment for all.
