Ak Bugday District Receives $1 Million Award for Best Socio-Economic Performance
The Ak Bugday district of the Ahal region has been recognized as the best district in Turkmenistan in terms of socio-economic indicators for the year 2023. In recognition of this achievement, the district’s administration was awarded 1 million US dollars in a ceremony that took place on Monday. The event was attended by honored guests and local residents who joined in the celebration of this remarkable accomplishment.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, in a congratulatory address to the residents of Ak Bugday, commended their hard work and expressed confidence that they will continue to achieve significant labor victories in the future. The selection of the best district is based on a comprehensive assessment of various indicators, including the implementation of national rural programs, agricultural success, infrastructure development, and employment solutions for the local population.
The residents of Ak Bugday are known for their dedication to agriculture, with a focus on cultivating arable land, orchards, vineyards, animal husbandry, and greenhouse development. They provide for themselves and contribute their food products to both local and international markets. Additionally, the district has seen the establishment of new industrial facilities, social and cultural buildings, and the popularity of the Bagabat sanatorium among Turkmen residents.
To showcase the economic potential of the district, an exhibition was organized, along with performances by artists, sports demonstrations, and the preparation of traditional festive dishes for all participants of the celebration.
