10 Arrested in Illegal Betting Operation in Diyarbakır
Provincial Police Department Crackdown on Cyber Crimes Linked to Illegal Betting
The Provincial Police Department Cyber Crimes Branch teams have been working diligently in the fight against illegal betting activities. Recently, operations were conducted simultaneously in Diyarbakır, Van, Bingöl, İzmir, Adana, and Erzurum.
As a result of these operations, 18 individuals were detained for their involvement in illegal betting activities. Following police procedures, 5 of the suspects were released after giving statements at the prosecutor’s office, while the others were taken to the Criminal Court of Peace on duty.
Subsequently, 10 suspects were arrested by the judge, while the rest were released under the condition of judicial control. This crackdown highlights the continued efforts of law enforcement to combat cyber crimes and illegal activities in the region.
