11 Victories for Our Female Wrestlers – BRTK
The TRNC Ministry of National Education recently organized inter-school wrestling competitions, where girl wrestlers emerged victorious and went on to participate in the Turkish championships for the very first time. A total of 16 girl wrestlers represented the TRNC in the Junior A, Junior B, and Star categories at the competitions held in Tekirdağ starting from April 15.
Among the participants were Halil İbrahim Kurt from the TRNC team and Sevim Kurt, the first female referee. The TRNC Wrestling Federation President, Kemal Bayraktar, expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance, with 11 wins achieved in the eliminations.
Looking ahead, the TRNC Wrestling Federation has scheduled its first competition of the 2024 program for Sunday, April 21. The event will feature Star wrestlers competing at the Nicosia Rifat Şener Wrestling Hall, with matches commencing at 10:00.
It is evident that the TRNC is making strides in the world of wrestling, showcasing talent and dedication in national and international competitions. With continued support and development opportunities, the future looks bright for TRNC wrestlers as they continue to excel on the mat.
