110 Fugitive Convicts Apprehended in Istanbul

On December 5-7, 110 escaped convicts were apprehended in a large-scale operation carried out across 39 districts of Istanbul. Coordinated by the Istanbul Police Department Public Order Branch Directorate, Wanted Persons Bureau, the operation saw the participation of 256 teams and 458 personnel who simultaneously raided 245 addresses previously identified as potential locations of the fugitives.
Among the arrested individuals are Bülent Taş, who had been sentenced to 62 years and 10 months in prison for the killing of several people, and Nurbek Y., who has an Interpol blue notice issued for fraud. Both of these individuals were wanted by law enforcement authorities and were successfully captured during the operation.
Following their apprehension, these convicts were then taken to police stations to complete necessary procedures before being handed over to correctional facilities to serve their sentences.
The success of this large-scale police operation underscores the persistent efforts of law enforcement agencies to apprehend and bring to justice individuals who have attempted to evade the consequences of their actions. The swift and effective coordination of multiple police teams led to the successful capture of these fugitives, ensuring that they will face justice for their crimes.
