132 Hakkari Settlements’ Roads Closed to Traffic: Latest News from Turkey
The recent heavy snowfall in Hakkari, Turkey has caused significant disruptions to transportation and daily life in the region. The snowfall, which began in the evening hours, continued into the morning, with snow depths reaching up to 1.5 meters in higher areas and 30 centimeters in the city center.
To combat these conditions, the municipality snow control team has been working tirelessly in shifts to keep the roads open. They have been focusing their efforts on 15 neighborhood roads, which are crucial for ensuring residents can travel safely.
Despite their best efforts, officials from Hakkari Special Provincial Administration have reported that the roads to 28 villages and 104 hamlets have been closed due to the heavy snowfall. Snow-fighting efforts are ongoing to clear these areas and restore transportation links for the affected communities.
As the snowfall begins to give way to foggy weather, it is vital for residents to exercise caution when traveling in these conditions. The municipality and provincial administration are working hard to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents during this challenging period.
