14 Years Later: Unsolved Mystery of Suspicious Death

The mysterious case of the death of Nazlı Sinem Erköseoğlu continues to haunt many, 14 years after her body was found in the gap of the Mithatpaşa Apartment in Beyoğlu. The young woman’s tragic end raises questions of whether it was suicide or murder, as the details surrounding her death remain unresolved.
Immediately following the discovery of Nazlı Sinem’s body, a lawsuit was filed against Can Paksoy and Mahmut Efe Paksoy for “deliberate murder,” with life imprisonment requested for the Paksoy brothers. Suspicion grew as fingerprints of the suspect’s family were found at the place where the young girl allegedly took her own life, casting doubt on the initial narrative presented.
Despite the evidence pointing towards foul play, the Paksoy brothers were acquitted in the case due to a lack of substantial proof. However, the Supreme Court overturned this decision in 2018, leading to a retrial. The legal battle continued, and in a recent hearing on January 31, the court announced its interim decision to bring Can Paksoy by force to stand trial once again.
As the case unfolds, the Paksoy brothers’ involvement in Nazlı Sinem’s death remains a contentious issue. The quest for justice and closure for the young woman and her family continues, as the truth behind the suspicious ending that has eluded resolution for 14 years hangs in the balance.
