150 Acres of Wheat Fields in Mardin Destroyed by Fire
A fire broke out in the rural Üçtepe Mahallesi of Mardin, Turkey, burning approximately 150 acres of wheat planted land belonging to Lokman Tekin. The fire started at noon and firefighters were called to the area to extinguish it. Villagers also tried to intervene with their tractors to stop the fire, but it grew with the effect of the wind. The cause of the fire is as yet unknown. The fire was eventually put under control and extinguished with the intervention of firefighters. The incident resulted in considerable damage and loss for Tekin, who is likely to face financial difficulties in the future due to the loss of his investment.
