18 Individuals in Kocaeli Fined 115,650 Lira for Gambling
Police Crack Down on Illegal Gambling in Kocaeli Province
The Provincial Police Department in Kocaeli recently announced that they have been cracking down on illegal gambling activities in public entertainment and resting places. Inspections carried out in various districts, including Kartepe, Gölcük, and İzmit, have uncovered illegal gambling operations.
In Kartepe district, authorities discovered bingo being played in a cafeteria. As a result, they confiscated 3,000 liras in gambling money and imposed a total administrative fine of 44,975 liras on 7 individuals involved. Similar actions were taken in Gölcük district, where 3 individuals were caught gambling at work and faced fines totaling 19,275 liras, with 8,400 liras being kept under protection.
In İzmit district, police imposed fines totaling 51,400 liras on 8 people who were found gambling in two separate workplaces. Additionally, authorities seized 4,300 liras and 100 euros that were being used for gambling activities.
Legal action was also taken against individuals identified as KK, TA, SP, and TK, who were caught gambling at work. The crackdown on illegal gambling activities in Kocaeli reflects the authorities’ commitment to preventing such crimes and ensuring public safety.
