Tragic Incident: Syrian Baby Drowns in Irrigation Canal
A heartbreaking incident occurred in the Hotanlı Neighborhood of the Karacabey district involving a Syrian family who had come to the area as seasonal workers. Faruk Melle, the baby of the couple İ.M. and HH, tragically drowned in an irrigation canal while playing with his siblings in front of the house where they were staying.
The mother, I.M., was alerted by her other children and rushed to the canal to rescue her son. Despite her efforts, Faruk could not be saved. Health teams arrived at the scene after a notification was made to the 112 Emergency Call Center, but it was too late.
