20 Terror Targets Destroyed in Air Operation in Northern Iraq
The Ministry of National Defense (MSB) of Turkey has announced a successful air operation against terrorist targets in northern Iraq. The operation targeted regions such as Metina, Zap, Gara, Hakurk, Kandil, and Asos, which are known to harbor PKK/KCK and other terrorist elements.
In a written statement, the Ministry of National Defense emphasized the need to neutralize terrorist threats coming from northern Iraq and protect the country’s border security. The operation, carried out on September 2, 2024, aimed to destroy 20 targets including caves, shelters, warehouses, and facilities used by the Separatist Terrorist Organization (BTÖ).
The statement highlighted the use of domestically produced ammunition to neutralize a significant number of terrorists during the operation. The Turkish Armed Forces, with unwavering determination, will continue to combat terrorism until the last terrorist is eliminated to safeguard the country and its people.
It was also mentioned that every precaution was taken to avoid any harm to innocent civilians, friendly forces, as well as historical and environmental sites during the operation. The Turkish military remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of the nation against terrorist threats.
