2024 Military Cooperation Plan with Poland: Forging a Partnership

Hungary and Poland Sign Bilateral Military Cooperation Plan

The Ministries of Defense of Hungary and Poland have signed a bilateral military cooperation plan, as announced by honvedelem.hu. The signing ceremony took place on February 21, in Budapest.

The signing of the document was represented by Colonel Albert Gróf, Head of the Department of International Cooperation of the Hungarian Ministry of Defense, and Colonel Slawomir Mnitowski, Military, Air, and Defense Attaché of the Republic of Poland.

The plan includes joint military exercises, conferences, cooperation in education, training, military history, and war graves, as well as traditional events and programs for the year 2024.

Poland is considered a key partner for Hungary, and the military cooperation between the two countries through professional programs is continuous and wide-ranging.

Interestingly, Hungary’s military cooperation with Poland has its roots in the V4 Group’s Defense Cooperation. Since the adoption of the first Long Term Vision, V4 countries have substantially expanded their defense cooperation and implemented joint projects and activities in many areas. These include strengthening NATO’s deterrence and defense, industry, innovation, procurement and armaments, and the V4 EU Battlegroup.

The partnership between Hungary and Poland in the military realm has a long-standing history and continues to be a crucial aspect of their national defense strategies.
