2024 Scholarships Offered to Support Hungarian Diaspora
Government offers 125 scholarships for Hungarian communities abroad
Applications are now open for a new round of 125 scholarships available through the government’s Sándor Kőrösi Csoma and Sándor Petőfi scholarship schemes. In a video message, state secretary Árpád János Potápi highlighted these programmes as the flagships of the policy for Hungarians abroad, aiming to provide support for Hungarian communities living around the world.
Hungarians aged above 18 with experience in organizing communities are welcome to apply. There are four groups of tasks covered by the programmes, including scouting activities, preserving traditions, teaching and education, and community, sport, media and cultural activities.
The Kőrösi scheme includes various destination countries such as the United States, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Bulgaria, and more. On the other hand, the Petőfi scheme covers Croatia, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, and Slovenia.
