2025 designated as “Alisher Navoi Year” in Navoi region
In honor of the 584th anniversary of Alisher Navoi’s birth, the year 2025 has been officially declared as “Alisher Navoi Year” in Navoi Region. A national commission and action plan have been put in place to ensure that the celebrations are carried out with the utmost significance.
A presidential decree has been issued to promote the creative legacy of the renowned poet and thinker, Alisher Navoi, both locally within Uzbekistan and on the international stage. The celebrations in Navoi Region will be held with great importance and attention to detail.
Efforts to study and promote Alisher Navoi’s creative heritage will be intensified through systematic scientific research conducted both domestically and abroad. New scientific, literary, and popular works will be created, and the works of foreign Navoi scholars and artists will be translated and published in Uzbek. The State Commission will play a key role in these initiatives.
The annual international symposium “Alisher Navoi and the Eastern Renaissance” will be organized with the highest standards, along with Navoi readings and other cultural events. Navoi State University will also host an international scientific conference from October 10-15, 2025, focusing on the role of Alisher Navoi’s scientific and literary heritage in the spiritual and educational development of mankind.
Furthermore, a national competition entitled “Understanding Hazrat Navoi – Understanding Ourselves” will be held, in addition to the organization of “Navoi Evenings” in educational institutions and local communities. These events aim to deepen understanding and appreciation of Alisher Navoi’s contributions to literature and culture.
Overall, the year 2025 promises to be a year of celebration and reflection on the life and works of Alisher Navoi, with a focus on promoting his legacy both nationally and internationally.
