25 Billion MNT Budgeted for Drones, Robots, and Emergency Services Clothing
The Mongolian government has prioritized the improvement of emergency services by allocating 25 billion MNT in the state budget. This funding will be used to enhance the clothing, equipment, and training of emergency staff, including fire fighting drones, robots, and international standard gear for firefighters.
In addition to upgrading their gear, the government also plans to increase the capacity of emergency staff through training programs. Discussions have been held on expanding the number of search and rescue units and fire fighting teams to further enhance their effectiveness.
Despite efforts to increase the number of employees in the emergency services, there is currently a significant shortage of human resources, with a 60 percent deficit compared to the total population. This shortage underscores the need for continued investment and support for emergency services in Mongolia.
While three out of 10 emergency service personnel have appropriate clothing, not all employees are equipped at the same level. To address this issue, the government has increased their salaries twice in the past two years, with the most recent raise being 25 percent. However, social issues such as housing remain a concern, prompting the government to implement policies to address these challenges.
