
D.Amarbayasgalan holds meeting with Mongolian researchers in Oxford

The Chairman of the State Great Hural, D.Amarbayasgalan, is currently on an official visit to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland at the invitation of the Right Honourable Sir Lindsay Hoyle, Speaker of the House of Commons.
This historic visit, which is scheduled from March 18 to 23, 2025, marks the first-ever visit at the level of Mongolia’s parliamentary chairman to the UK. Mongolia sees the UK as a crucial third neighbor and a significant European partner, holding strategic importance in diplomatic and economic relations.
The main objectives of this visit are to strengthen bilateral relations, expand cooperation in economic, energy, and education sectors, and establish a legal framework for enhanced collaboration between Mongolia and the UK. Additionally, the visit aims to promote mutual understanding, increase high-level dialogue, and strengthen inter-parliamentary ties between the two nations.
During his visit, Chairman D.Amarbayasgalan met with Mongolian researchers participating in the 7th International Conference on the Livelihoods of People Living in the Gobi Desert, organized by the School of Geography and the Environment at Oxford University. He also had meetings with William Hague, Chancellor of the University of Oxford, and Professor Giles Wiggs, Director of the School of Geography and the Environment, to discuss Mongolia’s educational goals, ongoing programs, and potential future research collaborations.
In addition, Chairman D.Amarbayasgalan visited the Satellite Application Catapult where a Mongolian citizen, B.Maral, works as a senior advisor. This company is known for its cutting-edge technology and innovation, further showcasing the potential for collaboration between Mongolia and the UK in the field of technology.
Overall, this visit is seen as a significant step towards enhancing the cooperation and partnership between Mongolia and the United Kingdom, paving the way for further opportunities and collaborations in the future.
