25 Suspects Arrested in Church Attack Investigation

Twenty-five suspects have been arrested in connection with the armed attack on the Santa Maria Church in Sarıyer, which resulted in the tragic death of 52-year-old Tuncer Murat Cihan. The attack, which took place on Sunday, prompted the Istanbul Police Department to detain a total of 60 people in a series of operations.

Following the attack, 26 of the suspects were deported and sent to a repatriation center, while 34 others were detained and later brought to the Bayrampaşa State Hospital for a health check. After the health check, they were referred to Çağlayan Courthouse, where they underwent further legal proceedings.

Additionally, a judicial control order was issued for 9 other suspects.
