Maduro’s Response to Opposition’s Election Results

Nicolas Maduro Affirms No One is Above the Constitution

During the “2024 Judicial Activities Opening” session at the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) Headquarters in Caracas, President Nicolas Maduro emphasized that no one can be above the constitution. He evaluated the decisions of the judiciary and stated that no sector can be above the law and the people of Venezuela.

Maduro also expressed concern over threats, ignorance, disrespect, calls for violence, and attempts by extremist groups to prevent the upcoming 2024 presidential election in Venezuela. He accused these groups of trying to sabotage the electoral process.

The President also responded to comments made by Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa, urging him to focus on his own country before criticizing Venezuela. Maduro warned Noboa to refrain from getting involved with Venezuela and to look after his own country.

Additionally, Maduro highlighted the efforts being made to promote dialogue with various segments of the Venezuelan society, emphasizing the need to consolidate peace in the country. He specifically voiced support for the National Assembly’s efforts to engage in dialogue with different sectors to determine the 2024 election calendar.

In response to these developments, the U.S. administration announced the re-implementation of some sanctions on Venezuela following the Supreme Court’s decision to impose a 15-year political ban on opposition leader Maria Corina Machado.

As political tensions continue to escalate, Maduro remains committed to upholding the rule of law and ensuring the stability and peace of Venezuela.
