Ukrainian Children Find Rehabilitation and Support in Azerbaijan
Over the past three years, 273 Ukrainian children who have lost parents in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict or are in captivity have received rehabilitation in Azerbaijan. This information was shared by Ukrainian Ambassador to Baku Yuriy Husyev during a press conference.
Husyev highlighted the significance of this program in strengthening the cooperation and strategic partnership between Ukraine and Azerbaijan. Just a week ago, a new group of Ukrainian children arrived in Azerbaijan for rest and rehabilitation. As part of the charity art event “For Children for the Future. Ukraine – Azerbaijan,” a charity concert was organized for these children on the occasion of the Easter holidays.
Currently, 29 children whose parents were affected by the conflict are undergoing rehabilitation in Azerbaijan. This initiative was praised by the head of the working group on interparliamentary relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine, Alibala Maharramzada, as a testament to the strong humanitarian ties between the two countries.
Azerbaijan’s acknowledgment of Ukraine’s territorial integrity and continuous support for the Ukrainian people were highlighted during the event. The hope is for the war to end soon, allowing for more joint events between Ukrainian and Azerbaijani children in the future.
Viktoriia Tsymbaliuk, a representative of the coordination headquarters for work with prisoners of war and the head of the project “People of the Future,” shared that over 3,000 Ukrainian children have participated in the charity art event “For Children for the Future” so far. This project, which has been implemented in around 20 countries globally, aims to support children’s socialization, education, psychological well-being, and sports development.
