32 Arrested in Police Operation Targeting Organized Crime Across 6 Provinces

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced on his social media account that a successful operation was carried out against an organized crime group led by Beratcan Gökdemir. The operation resulted in the capture of 32 suspects involved in various criminal activities.

The Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office and the General Directorate of Security worked together to conduct operations in Istanbul, Adana, Izmir, Konya, and Diyarbakir, focusing on Antalya. It was discovered that the suspects, who were members of the organized crime organization, had engaged in violent acts against business people who failed to pay extortion money. They also were found responsible for shooting at residences, workplaces, and vehicles, in addition to planning and committing various crimes such as attempted murder, intentional wounding, endangering public security, property damage, and making death threats.

During the operation, authorities seized 23 unlicensed pistols, 2 unlicensed rifles, a quantity of narcotics, and a significant amount of cash. Minister Yerlikaya expressed his determination to dismantle organized crime networks of any scale and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
