The Istanbul Police Department Anti-Terrorism Branch has successfully identified and detained 58 suspects who were responsible for making provocative posts on social media. These suspects were found to be using their accounts to create fear and panic among citizens, calling them to the streets.

The operations carried out on 19 March and 20 March led to the detention of these suspects, who were found to have 500 grams of bonzai in their possession. Among the 58 suspects, 18 were not present at their homes during the operations, including 18 who claimed to reside in student dormitories.

Today, 2 of the suspects who were under the age of 18 were released on the condition of judicial control. The remaining 56 suspects provided statements to the prosecution, with 36 of them requesting a judicial control decision. Additionally, 20 suspects were referred to the Magistrate Criminal Judiciary for arrest.

The investigation is ongoing, as authorities continue to work towards ensuring the safety and security of the public in light of these provocative social media activities.
