Nature Conservation and National Parks Siirt Branch Directorate Crack Down on Illegal Hunting

The Nature Conservation and National Parks Siirt Branch Directorate, in collaboration with the Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams, is intensifying efforts to combat illegal hunting and protect wildlife. According to a recent statement, inspections conducted in the countryside of the city led to the discovery of 6 individuals hunting without a proper certificate. As a result, fines totaling 53,619 pounds were imposed on the offenders.

Furthermore, the teams also seized Kınalı Partridges during their operations. These birds were promptly handed over to the Siirt University Animal Health Application and Research Hospital for treatment. Additionally, structures like trap apparatus and stone residences used in illegal hunting activities were dismantled and destroyed to deter further illegal activities.
