
63 Arrested in Latest Turkish Police Operation Targeting 8 Criminal Organizations

In a recent operation organized by the gendarmerie in 7 provinces in Turkey, including Istanbul, Diyarbakir, Antalya, Izmir, Balikesir, Tekirdag, and Gaziantep, 8 separate criminal organizations were targeted, as per the information shared by Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya.
During the operation, which took place in the last two weeks, 2 separate organizations in Istanbul, identified as SY and BA, Diyarbakir’s Moon, Antalya’s S.Ö., Izmir’s Balikesir, Ok, Tekirdag’s C.Ü., and Gaziantep’s FD, were among the targets. Out of the 48 suspects caught, 11 have been given judicial control decisions, while others are still under investigation.
The suspects were arrested for various charges, including establishing a criminal organization, drug manufacturing and trafficking, and violating the law. Additionally, the authorities seized 9 unlicensed pistols, 392 kilograms of cannabis, drug paraphernalia, 28 million TL worth of checks and deeds, as well as numerous mobile phones, memory cards, documents, and cutting/piercing tools during the operation.
