6th Fusion of Cultures Event kicks off in İskele – BRTK
The Fusion of Cultures Event, organized for the 6th time this year by İskele Municipality, has kicked off with the slogan “Let our love be your love, let İskele be your route on October 6”. The event features a variety of cultural activities and performances that showcase the rich diversity of TRNC, Turkey, and other third country cultures.
The event includes a Children’s Street with nearly 150 stands, offering a wide range of cultural experiences for visitors. The finale of the event will feature concerts by local artists, folk dances, and modern dance shows, culminating with a performance by singer Derya Uluğ at İskele Ecevit Square at 21:30.
The opening ceremony of the 6th Fusion of Cultures Event began with a cortege arrival at the ceremony area, followed by a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem. Various dignitaries, including Iskele Mayor Hasan Sadıkoğlu, Deputy Prime Minister Fikri Ataoğlu, and President Ersin Tatar, addressed the participants during the event.
The event also featured dance performances by different cultural groups, including the İskele Municipality Folk Dance Group, the Sırataki group TUFAD, Azerbaijan Cultural Association, Romani Dance Group Akdoğan Youth Center, and Filipinos and Iranians. The atmosphere was festive and celebratory, highlighting the spirit of unity and diversity in Iskele.
Mayor Hasan Sadıkoğlu expressed his pride in hosting the Fusion of Cultures Event, emphasizing the importance of celebrating and sharing cultural heritage. Deputy Prime Minister Fikri Ataoğlu commended the event as a unique showcase of cultural diversity and preservation. President Ersin Tatar praised the event for introducing TRNC to the world on an international scale and emphasized the resilience and unity of the Turkish Cypriot people.
The event will feature nearly 150 stands representing different cultures, children’s activities, concerts, and dance performances. Various security and medical teams will be present to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants. The Fusion of Cultures Event aims to promote cultural exchange, mutual understanding, and appreciation for diverse traditions and customs.
