Abdullah Avcı: We Didn’t Lose the Game, But We Lost the Score

Trabzonspor Faces 2-0 Defeat Against Beşiktaş
In the 24th week of the Trendyol Super League, Trabzonspor suffered a 2-0 loss to Beşiktaş. This marks the team’s fourth consecutive defeat in the league, prompting coach Abdullah Avcı to make a statement following the game.
Avcı expressed his thoughts on the loss, stating, “Even though we didn’t lose as a game, we lost as a score. I think it was the best game we have played in recent weeks. Only when we had the ball, sometimes we made the final passes early. Sometimes we had the ball, we completed the attack. We have positions in both halves. Even though we did not lose as a game, we lost as a score. You know, I am not talking about the referee at all.”
The coach also addressed a controversial moment in the game, saying, “Last week I won 1-0, 46th minute. The ball goes out of touch, the game continues, I concede a break goal. It’s already a wavy process right now. There is no sound. I would be happy if they informed me about today’s penalty position. The ball returns from here and a goal is scored. ‘I’m going into the half with a break goal.’”
Despite the challenging situation, Avcı remained optimistic about Trabzonspor’s future, stating, “This process is a bit tiring. Trabzonspor never gives up, it continues. Today, there is no deviation from the goals we have set since the day we arrived.”
As the team continues to face obstacles, it is clear that Avcı remains dedicated to guiding Trabzonspor to success.
