Accidental Cannonball Strike: Warship Hits Another Ship
A cannonball accidentally fired from a Thai Navy warship caused chaos at the Sattahip Naval Base in Thailand’s Chonburi province. The incident took place around 11.50 local time when a cannonball from the HTMS Chonburi ship hit another warship, the HTMS Khirirat, in the same port.
As a result of the impact, a fire broke out on the HTMS Khirirat, injuring 13 soldiers, with 2 of them in serious condition. Emergency services quickly responded to the scene, but the Thai Navy has yet to release an official statement regarding the accident.
Reports indicate that the HTMS Chonburi ship had just returned from a military exercise the previous night and had not unloaded its ammunition before the incident occurred. Security has been tightened around the naval base, and an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the accident.
